Abstract

Meaningful learning proposes an interaction between knowledge and new information, which are focused on the student's cognitive structure. This is represented by images, symbols, concepts; in this way the contents are related in a balanced way, with those already acquired by the student. Virtual platforms play a very important role in fostering this meaningful practice, favoring the distinction of old means of teaching and thus, demonstrating how new technologies contribute to a better teaching process. They demonstrate how through meaningful learning and the use of virtual platforms, new learning can be constructed. In this research, we seek to briefly describe the background of virtual platforms and their impact on meaningful learning in higher education in the area of didactics. In this descriptive study, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, an online questionnaire was applied, with closed and open questions.
