Abstract

This scientific article examines the crucial role that emotional education plays in the development of social skills and the well-being of students. Emotional education refers to the ability to recognize, understand and regulate one's own emotions and those of others. Recent research shows that the integration of emotional education in educational programs has positive effects on various aspects of student development. First, emotional education promotes emotional self-awareness, allowing students to identify and understand their own emotions. This helps them to properly manage their emotional reactions in different social situations. In addition, emotional education fosters empathy by allowing students to understand and relate to the emotions of others, which strengthens their communication skills and interpersonal relationships. Conflict resolution is another area that benefits from emotional education, as it teaches students to manage emotions during tense situations and to approach problems constructively. By cultivating self-esteem and self-acceptance, emotional education contributes to greater self-confidence and a positive sense of identity. In addition, emotional education has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, providing students with tools to face academic and personal demands in a healthy way. Ultimately, by developing positive and authentic relationships, students are better prepared to collaborate in social and professional settings.
