Technological literacy: from computing to the development of digital skills

Abstract

The objective of this work is to present the topic of technological literacy; From informatics to the development of digital skills, for this an exhaustive search of literary material was carried out, using concepts to clarify each weak point, in the same way it shows how social inequality and the population at risk of social exclusion promote the unequal access to the world of knowledge through technologies. Finally, it is intended to provide answers to direct a correct literacy of current technologies. Technological literacy is a necessity for greater competitiveness and productivity in the population. But the current organization of the school education system does not facilitate the development of such skills and competencies. The information is analyzed through qualitative methods through a triangulation process that provides pre and emerging categories. The results suggest that the program has effects on different aspects of the learning environment: teacher role, student interaction, relationship environment, significance, and technological skills. It is concluded that the training program that was implemented is effective to achieve technological literacy.

The purpose of this research is to identify the effects derived from the implementation of a project-based learning program with the use of information and communication technologies on the technological literacy of students from different public schools. Collect information from 28 students from a fiscal institution. The information is analyzed through qualitative methods through a triangulation process that provides pre and emerging categories. The results suggest that the program has effects on different aspects of the learning environment: teacher role, student interaction, relationship environment, significance, and technological skills. It is concluded that the training program that was implemented is effective to achieve technological literacy.
